~New "Pineapple" Bedroom Carpet & Tea Cups~

 Happy Monday to you all.
Gary and I have lived in our current home now for 2 years and 2 months, there had been new carpet installed  by the previous owners to give the house a fresh look when we purchased the home,  but it did not last the padding went flat and the carpet wore out  you could see walk paths and when I would walk on the threshold I could feel nails poking my tender little feet! (it hurt) so Gary and  I decided it was time to upgrade the bedroom carpets.
We choose Posh Origins in Pineapple by Mohawk with a thick padding. It is so soft and comfy to walk on I love it! the color is so  pretty I think. Its like a warm butter yellow. Our bedroom walls are  painted a light soft yellow. We are surrounded by sunshine!

We debated between continuing the wood flooring we have in the great room and hallways into the bedrooms but since our home has a raised foundation and the central valley were we live is cold in the winter and hot in summer we opted for carpet in the bedrooms. I like getting out of bed and walking a soft floor.

During the summer we take off our quilt and put on the light weight chenille bedspread and leave the quilt at the foot of the bed for add color and texture.  We do not have a head board "yet" I have a design I would like for Gary to build for me. He said he would so I will wait patiently...

Pineapple carpet.....its so lush and oh so soft you can lay down on it and wave your arms up and down and make a snow angel in it, or would that be a carpet angel hehehee?
Recently the ceiling fan went out, just plain old gave out on us one very hot day in June!!! wouldn't ya know it.. anyway the very next day we ran out and purchased a new ceiling fan for the bedroom. It gets hot in the central valley were we live and a ceiling fan is a must or we would be running the air conditioner all night and boy would be have a BIG electric bill!

I have shown you the little sitting room before in the bedroom but now I have my tea cup collection in there along with the yellow wing back chair. Since we had to move everything out of all the bedrooms for the carpets to be installed I took a few shots of the teacups so I would remember how I had them set up, well I didn't down load the photos and ended up putting them back differently LOL. anyway I thought you might like to see my pretties. My sister and I would always look for special tea cups while antiquing together so my tea cups remind me of fun times spent with her.  I hope you enjoy the teacup :)

While hanging up my cloths back into the closet I noticed my rain coat matched the soft yellow wing back chair and the pineapple carpet.
I think I (we) have a thing for yellow lately. Our new kitchen appliances are yellow and
Gary and I just had our house painted, the painter finished up last week and guess what? yep we choose yellow for the base color of the body, white for the trim and a royal blue door. I will show you later in another post how the new house color looks also the other two bedrooms  new carpet. There is nothing like new soft carpet under your feet when you get up in the morning...

I hope your week is restful and your hearts are at peace.

~A Summer Bracelet & Three Throw Pillows

Happy Monday! Today I would like to share with you some work from very creative ladies. Recently I was the lucky girl who won "A Summer Bracelet" over at Vee's "A Haven for Vee"  Vee has such a warm and friendly blog and she hosts a blog party called "Note Card Party" it is held the third Wednesday of each month, so the next party will be on August 15th. so go on over to Vee's and join in or enjoy viewing all the beautiful post card photo's.
A lovely gal by the name of Deanna designed and made " A Summer Bracelet" that Vee was gifting. I was able to choose a  bracelet  and so of course you all know how much I love red and  choose a red bracelet!!! I love it! and it has an magnetic clasp. I don't even need  help putting this sweet Summer Bracelet on.
Oh by the way, How do I look as a hand model :)  hehehe
The color is so pretty and its made so well and sturdy. Just look at the clasp isn't it cool....
This is truly a fun and pretty bracelet to wear. Deanna shop is called "Fab Fashion" she also has a blog "Creekside Cottage"  go on over and say Hi...

While reading Becky's "Sweet Cottage Dreams" I was admiring the pillows she had posted that were made by Judy Clark. So I went over to Judy's ETSY site 20NORTHORA and fell in love with  her pillows. I purchased this vintage red and white rose pattern one with vintage buttons. I love the red checks and rick rack..

Aren't the buttons adorable...I think so...
Then I saw this petite little pillow made out of more vintage fabric and knew I had the perfect little child's chair it would sit on. The pom poms are just so cute around the edge!

As a surprise Judy sent along this Tip Top Cherry Pie accent pillow, its  so darling  and it was so sweet of her to surprise me like that. I was smiling from ear to ear...so if  you are looking for a  fun vintage and original pillow go on over and visit Judy.

On the quilting front I have been working on a disappearing 9 patch quilt with some of the fabric I purchased while in Kauai. I still have a lot to sew, as soon as its done I'll post photos for you.

I hope you all have fun this week and "CREATE" something unique.  My dear friend Ana from
"A Petite Cottage" made this heart for me as a gift with my word of inspiration for 2012" I heart my heart!! so much.
Ana also has a ETSY store  with beautiful hand made items to purchase as a gift for someone special or a gift to yourself..

Have a very blessed and peaceful week and "Remember the days blessings and  forget the days troubles"

Hawaiian Post Card Quilt & New Trunk

Good Monday Morning to everyone. I must tell you that my fingers are mighty sore today, yes in deed all ten of them are very tender... my fingers were busy this weekend stitching on the binding to my Hawaiian fabric quilt ( The Post Card Quilt) it takes me about 2 hours per side so 8 hours of  hand stitching, of course I watched a few movies and that helped the time to go by.
While in Kauai in May we stopped at two quilt shops and I went crazy with all the beautiful Hawaiian fabrics I was seeing and couldn't leave the island without buying some material and a few patterns.
The Post Card Quilt pattern is so simple and easy to sew and I loved putting all the fabric together.  You can make this quilt with any fabric you might have left over from a previous quilt.
The more colorful the better I think. Anyways come on in to our front room and see the finished Post Card Quilt.

Well here she is....and I love her! I used 35 different fabrics.

Aw the binding....it just takes me forever to sew it on. But when its done I am so happy!

I had my quilter with his amazing long arm quilt machine stitch hibiscus flowers on for me.
A few months ago while out and about Gary and I stopped over at one of our favorite local furniture stores and purchased this metal and leather trunk coffee table. We agreed it would be great for storage for all our magazines and crochet afghans for our cold winter nights.
I really like all the studding around the trunk.
Pull out the handles and there are deep drawers for storage.

To keep with the topical and Hawaiian quilt  theme,  I put the two sea shell wreaths I made in the basket on the fireplace hearth and added a few sea shells into the  crystal bowl on the coffee trunk table.

I also put a sea shell neck less that just fit perfectly around the lamp shade for a little bit of whimsy!.

May the new week bring you peace in your heart and a smile to your face.
